Uchikomi
"Uchikomi" is repetitive practice of techniques, or drilling, in Judo and other martial arts. In Judo, it more specifically refers to the practice of drilling the initial portion of a throwing technique without actually completing the throw, allowing them to practice a large number of repetitions making their execution of techniques (called "Waza") precise, efficient, and quick. It is often the source of the phrase, "Slow is smooth, smooth is fast."
